Description
The River Road Campground is located in the Lake George State Forest (Volusia County), about 15 minutes southeast of Astor, FL. This campground has the following facilities: campsites communal pitcher pump (non-potable) and communal portalet. No electric hookups avaliable. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking, bird watching, wildlife viewing and photography.

Lake George State Forest is over 21,000 acres of woodlands, swamps and depressions that provides a corridor and roaming area crucial to the survival of the Florida black bear population in the area. The St. Johns River borders 3 1/2 miles of the forest and provides a wealth of ecologically valuable communities as well as river-based recreation.
