The Florida Forest Service offers camping discounts for individuals age 65 and older, active-duty military or honorably discharged veterans, and for individuals 100% disabled at applicable camping facilities on Florida's State Forests. If you qualify for any of these discounts, please call the Reserve America Call Center at (877) 879-3859 and provide the appropriate document number (e.g., driver's license number; military ID number) to have the documentation added and your profile updated. Once this is complete, your discount will automatically apply upon checkout. The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to verify documentation provided to Reserve America.

Krul Campground Info: Day Passes are not valid for entry at Krul Campground. Reservations are required for entry and are available 2 days in advance here. Annual passholders also require a reservation, but will be admitted for free.

Description

The Hammock Campground is located within the Jennings State Forest (Clay County), about 30 minutes northwest of Middleburg, FL. This camp has the following facilities: camp area with no electricity or water, a communal vault restroom and pavilion. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, hunting, fishing, canoeing, picnicking, horseback riding, birding, wildlife viewing, and photography.

Geography:

Jennings State Forest has over 25,000 acres of woodlands and creeks. Several ravines can be found in Jennings State Forest. These ravines are located along seepage streams leading to North Fork Black Creek. The spring-fed streams are visible when canoeing between Powell Ford and Ellis Ford on North Fork Black Creek. Jennings State Forest has 2 campgrounds, 6 camp zones, day-use areas and recreational trails that offer a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, swimming, canoeing, fishing, nature study, birding, wildlife viewing, hunting, horseback riding and wildflower viewing. Facilities:

This drive-up primitive campground has ten tent sites. A vault restroom is available for campers and is located a short walk from the pavilion. A communal, 2-table pavilion, grills, and a campfire ring with benches is located across from site 6.

Camp Blanding Musemum and Memorial Park - located 12 miles south of Middleburg on SR 16, east of Starke, FL. Open noon to 4:00 pm daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas Days

Eugene L. Matthews Historical Musemum(Bradford County) - 20 miles south and west of Middleburg. Take SR 21 south, right onto SR 16 West, left onto CR 230 to Starke. Open Tuesday to Thursday 1:00pm to 5:00 pm

Middleburg Historical Musemum - 20 minutes south of Jennings State Forest , 3912 Section Street in Middleburg. Open Sunday 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations can be made on the website and through the call center.
  • 1 or more days prior to arrival: $9 non-refundable cancellation fee.
  • Day of or after arrival, must be cancelled through the call center.
  • $9.00 plus the 1st night's use fee.
  • After the arrival date, $9 non-refundable cancellation fee, fees for the nights following the call will be refunded. No same night refunds.

Refunds:

  • Credit Card refunds are automatically credited back to the original credit card and will take up to 3 - 5 business days to appear on the customer's statement.
  • The State Forest campgrounds cannot process refunds for reservations processed online or through the call center.
  • The State Forest can process refunds for cash or check payments made through walk-in office reservations and walk-up campsites. State Forest do not process any credit card refunds.

From Jacksonville FL, I-10 west, take exit 350, SR 23/Cecil Commerce Center. Follow SR 23 south (14 miles). Turn right onto Old Jennings Rd, head west (3 miles). Turn right onto Live Oak Lane, heading north 2.5 miles). Turn left onto Bell Cemetery Rd, heading west ( 1.5 miles). Turn left onto Wheeler Branch Rd, heading south .25 mile campground entrance will be on the right.
