Description
The Matanzas Group Camp is located in the Matanzas State Forest (St. Johns County), about 25 minutes southeast of Crescent Beach, FL. This camp has the following facilities: group campsite with a portalet, no electricity and no water. Recreational activities featured here are: hunting, picnicking, bird watching, wildlife viewing and photography.
Geography:
Matanzas State Forest is over 4699 acres of woodlands and wetlands that protects the remaining undisturbed salt marsh within the Guana-Tolomato-Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. Travel 0.4 miles and turn right (east) on Evans Road. Travel 1 mile and turn left (north) on Group Camp Road. Travel 1.2 miles to the campground.
