Overview

Description

The Tram Road Equestrian Campground is located in the Tiger Bay State Forest (Volusia County), about 10 minutes west of Ormond Beach, FL. This equestrian campground has the following facilities: campsites with no electricity, a communal pit toilet and pitcher pump (non-potable). Each site has an adjacent horse corral. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, and photography.

Geography:

Tiger Bay State Forest is over 27,000 acres of woodlands and wetlands that provide a critical aquifer recharge for the local area. Also found on the forest are two lakes, Indian Lake and Scoggin Lake, and several ponds. Coon Pond is a natural water body, while Rattlesnake Pond, Woody Pond and Ranch Pond are man-made ponds that are available to the public for fishing. Recreation:

Tiger Bay State Forest has a campground, a group camp, equestrian campground, day-use areas, and recreation trails that offer a variety of activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, birding, wildlife viewing, photography, and hunting. The forest also has the Pershing Highway Trail, a short scenic hike over a mile of brick road constructed in 1917. Facilities:

Campsites are equipped with picnic table, fire ring, and grill. There are small corrals within each site. The sites surround a central equestrian day-use area where a round training pen, corrals, picnic area, non-potable water, and the Foster Pavilion, a picnic pavilion are located. Groups must request a Special Use Permit and/or reserve the pavilion prior to use.

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations can be made on the website and through the call center.
  • 1 or more days prior to arrival: $9 non-refundable cancellation fee.
  • Day of or after arrival, must be cancelled through the call center.
  • $9.00 plus the 1st night's use fee.
  • After the arrival date, $9 non-refundable cancellation fee, fees for the nights following the call will be refunded. No same night refunds.

    Refunds:

  • Credit Card refunds are automatically credited back to the original credit card and will take up to 3 - 5 business days to appear on the customer's statement.
  • The State Forest campgrounds cannot process refunds for reservations processed online or through the call center.
  • The State Forest can process refunds for cash or check payments made through walk-in office reservations. State Forests do not process any credit card refunds.
