The Florida Forest Service offers camping discounts for individuals age 65 and older, active-duty military or honorably discharged veterans, and for individuals 100% disabled at applicable camping facilities on Florida's State Forests. If you qualify for any of these discounts, please call the Reserve America Call Center at (877) 879-3859 and provide the appropriate document number (e.g., driver's license number; military ID number) to have the documentation added and your profile updated. Once this is complete, your discount will automatically apply upon checkout. The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to verify documentation provided to Reserve America.

Description

The Etoniah Creek State Forest Green Camp are located within the Etoniah Creek State Forest (Putnam County), about 10 minutes east of Florahome, FL. This camp has the following facilities: a vault toilet, and no electricity or water. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, hunting, horseback riding, picnicking, birding, wildlife viewing, and photography.

Geography:

Etoniah Creek State Forest has over 8,000 acres of woodlands, lakes and creeks. George's Lake is 819 acres with over 400 feet of lake frontage on the forest. Three shallow creeks (Falling Branch Creek, Etonia Creek, and Rice Creek) meander through floodplain swamps and bottomland hardwoods. Etoniah Creek State Forest has a campground, day-use areas and recreational trails that offer a variety of activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, nature study, birding, wildlife viewing, hunting, horseback riding, photography and wildflower viewing. This forest is part of the Florida National Scenic Trail and Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. The Palatka-To-Lake Butler State Trail (a paved, multi-use recreational trail) crosses the south side of the forest.
Four miles of the Florida National Scenic Trail also pass through the forest.

Ravine Gardens State Park is 15 miles east of the forest in Palatka.

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations can be made on the website and through the call center.
  • 1 or more days prior to arrival: $9 non-refundable cancellation fee.
  • Day of or after arrival, must be cancelled through the call center.
  • $9.00 plus the 1st night's use fee.
  • After the arrival date, $9 non-refundable cancellation fee, fees for the nights following the call will be refunded. No same night refunds.

Refunds:

  • Credit Card refunds are automatically credited back to the original credit card and will take up to 3 - 5 business days to appear on the customer's statement.
  • The State Forest campgrounds cannot process refunds for reservations processed online or through the call center.
  • The State Forest can process refunds for cash or check payments made through walk-in office reservations and walk-up campsites. State Forest do not process any credit card refunds.

If coming from the East (Palatka) or the West (Keystone Heights) you need to take State Road 100 towards Florahome.   Coming from the west (Florahome, FL)- Take State Road 100 east to Holloway Road. Holloway Road is across SR100 from Q.I. Roberts School. Turn north on Holloway Road for .75 miles to Quail Road. Turn east on Quail Road for .3 miles to North Creek Road. Turn south on N. Creek Road and travel for .95 miles. You will intersect here with West V Road. Head south on West V road (crossing over Etoniah Creek) for .9 miles to the power line. At the power line you will turn east for 20 YARDS and then make an immediate turn back to the north on East V Road. Take East V Road north for 1.5 miles to Green Camp Road. Turn on Green Camp Road and follow it for 1 mile to the Green Camp Primitive Camping Area.

Turn north on Holloway Road for .75 miles to Quail Road. Turn east on Quail Road for .3 miles to North Creek Road. Turn south on N. Creek Road and travel for .95 miles.
