The Baptism Hole Group Camp is in Pine Log State Forest (Washington County), about 14 miles north of Panama City Beach, FL. This is a primitive group camp along Pine Log Creek without access to water, electric or restrooms. Recreational activities featured here are: fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, swimming, bird watching, wildlife viewing and photography.
Acquired in 1936, Pine Log State Forest was Floridas first state forest and is named for Pine Log Creek, which runs through the forest. This forest is approximately 7,000 acres and is comprised of various natural communities including sand hills, flatwoods, Cypress ponds and titi swamps, which are home to a diverse mixture of indigenous animal and plant species. Pine Log State Forest has campgrounds, day-use areas and recreational trails that offers many activities for the outdoor enthusiast, including camping, horseback riding, birding, wildlife viewing, photography, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, and hunting. Please note that the trails are designated hiking only, hiking and biking only, and horseback riding only. This forest is part of the Florida Scenic Trail and Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.
